Writing since she was a young girl growing up in Southern California, Monica Grimm's talent for writing has been developed and honed working on her many different literary projects; projects ranging from kids books, to movies, to sci-fi, to romances, to fantasy, and to dramas. Her style is natural and easy, but in no way immature. And though '12 Days : Book One' will be Monica's first published work, if those readers who are already loyal to her writings have their say, it will not be her last!
ABOUT ME:
Ever since I was a little girl, I have loved books. And I read every book I could, immersing myself into the storyline, reveling in every adventure, swooning through each romance, and suffering through every trial the brave heroes and heroines were forced to endure. Then after I finished a book, I would spend some time imagining how the story would have continued, had the writer written more.
I suppose this is what jumpstarted what would become my passion, though up until high school, I never even considered writing as a career. In fact, it wasn’t until a high school English teacher told me how much she liked my short stories (so much she kept them) that I even I started to think about writing professionally. But then something happened, that took my mind off of writing…I fell in love with my high school sweetheart!
Long story short, (which for me is no easy feat) we married after high school, had four wonderful children. Family life was good. And in it, I found my focus, and my purpose. This changed, however, when after ten and a half years I lost my husband, David, in a tragic accident. But since then, I picked up my pencil again and started writing, mainly to entertain my insatiable readers at home. And the more I wrote, the more I wanted to. Stories, film scripts, and even a musical! And though I have spent a lot of time writing science fiction (starting with Star Wars fan fiction) my work has been in all genres, and has included such issues, as bullying and domestic abuse, romance, fantasy, and drama. As of late, however, my focus has been on this series, “12 Days”. I’ll just have to wait and see where the future takes me.
